People may know CHIE FILOMENO as the fierce dancer popular for her stint as a member of It’s Showtime’s all-female dance group GT, but this 23-year-old stunner has more than just an enthralling charm. She may have the undeniable beauty and alluring aura that can launch a thousand ships, but Chie prefers to sail through with her strong individualism and confidence.
But aside from regularly performing on TV, she also found haven on online platforms to express her artistry. Sealing a strong number of Instagram following—just 2.4 million, no big deal— Chie demands attention on every post with her glowing skin, beach-ready body, and fashion-forward outfits. In her online facade, she exudes a near-perfect life. But Chie is eager and confident to share she’s got nothing to hide, even with a number of criticisms she often receives. She further explains, “Bashing really makes me feel sad and down. Eventually, I got used to it because what they assume about me isn’t true. I know myself better than anyone. If the people around you genuinely love you for who you are, then they’ll make an effort to really get to know you. Other people’s opinions don’t matter because you don’t have to prove anything to them.”

As spunky as she is, Chie is also a delight to work with. Upon entering the studio, she greeted the team with a warm smile and youthful exuberance. Adding to her charm are her strong ideals as she’s an advocate of being proud of one’s own individuality and living your most authentic self. Here, we talk to the fearless muse about the secret to her glow, her biggest beauty regret, and her journey of self-discovery.
I love wearing boots while dancing! People are surprised when they see me dancing in high heels, but I find it really sexy when you can actually dance in heels. It’s more challenging and it takes a lot of practice.
Being constantly in demand, your time is filled with shoots and dance practices. How do you take care of your skin despite your busy schedule?
No matter how tired you are, you must completely remove your makeup. Deep cleanse your face before you sleep.
Do you believe that being healthy inside and out makes your skin fresh and glowing?
Yes, I’m a firm believer that aside from what you eat, your environment contributes to your appearance and well-being. You’ll glow when you’re surrounded by positivity.

What are the habits you recommend to achieve healthy well-being?
Just feed yourself with positive things and cut out negativity. That’s the main goal in life. When you’re happy, you’re able to achieve your dreams and goals. Bad juju affects you not only emotionally, but also physically and mentally.
What’s the biggest beauty regret you’ve ever made?
Thin eyebrows! I don’t want my eyebrows over-threaded to a thin line. What I did to remedy that was I diligently applied Argan Oil on my brows before going to bed.
What’s a beauty rule you live by?
Never leave sheet masks out of your skincare routine. K-Beauty sheet masks are really a staple whatever brand they may be.
As a dancer, tell us a tip on how you keep your makeup on all day?
My go-to is the Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray.
Is there any look you’ve been wanting to try?
I want to be experimental with my makeup, because I usually just do glam looks. For my hair, I’d want to try a pixie or boy cut.
We see you constantly at the beach on your Instagram. What are your beach essentials?
Of course, swimsuits by Boom Sason, sunblock, shades and lipstick. My perfect beach lippie would be Sunnies Face Fluffmatte in Baked or Nudist. You can use it on your eyes, cheeks, and lips!
When you’re not at the beach, how do you fake a sunkissed glow?
I do have freckles but they’re not a lot. That’s why I emphasize them more. I also use my trusty bronzer to make me look beached and sunkissed.
What are your tips for the perfect beach photo?
Find your perfect angle. It’s really about trial and error. You have to experiment with different poses. To look taller than you are, you have to cheat your way out of it by posing while tiptoeing.
We also couldn’t help but notice your amazing body! Were you always this fit?
I think it’s in the genes because my mom still has a waistline of 24 even after 2 kids. Perhaps, I’ve maintained my figure because of dancing and working out. Also, watch what you eat but don’t starve yourself! Keeping yourself hydrated is also a must.
You’ve always been very vocal about confidence and genuinity on social media. How does one become their fearless and authentic self?
Practice your individuality to understand your value and worth. When you have a relationship with yourself, you learn to know what you like and what you don’t like. You get to decide for yourself thus practicing independence. I like to treat myself. I personally love watching movies, eating, and shopping alone. You’ve got to be on your own to discover yourself more.
What’s one thing that makes you feel powerful and confident?
It’s the people that love me the most. My family, my friends, and my dogs! I know they’re there for me, and I got their back too.
It’s cool that you’re also a dog lover! How many do you have?
I have one Labrador named Shadow and she had nine puppies. I also have Matty, my Golden Retriever, and a German Shepherd named Isla cause I love the island life. Two Lhasa Apsos named Luna and Bella, and one Border Collie named Loki. His name is from one of my favorite characters from Thor.

What are three interesting things to know about you?
I’m a circuit race car driver. I race for Toyota Vios. It’s my second year professionally driving with them. You really have to take it seriously because there is no room for mistakes! I love it for the adrenaline rush. It’s a sport that tests your patience and it makes me a better driver. My dream is to own a Lamborghini or a Jeep Wrangler and I want it to be lime green because it’s my lucky color. Second, I have a security blanket for 22 years. And third, my favorite book is The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.
What’s one advice you give to girls who want to pursue their passion and dreams?
Never give up. Your efforts will all be wasted if you give up and you’re just an inch closer to success. Just keep going, and always remember that you have a strong support system to get you through.
Some people do get in your way and stop you from pursuing what you want. What’s the response to this situation?
Analyze, and learn the art of deadma. You know what’s best for you and everyone around you. The most important thing is your intentions are pure and true.
What’s next for Chie Filomeno?
Just dream big. You’ll never know with the law of attraction. You attract positive outcomes with positive thoughts.
