How To Achieve Workout-Proof Makeup

Working out bare-faced may be easy for some people, but here at Beauty Bubble Online, we’re all about being transparent. With your pores opening and sweating out toxins, the general rule of thumb is to use minimal products. But, we know how intimidating it might be to workout with no make-up on! So, we’re here to give you some tips and tricks on how to achieve a fresh makeup look that will last even after your intense routine. 

Our E-commerce Manager, Palmo Farber,  recently attended an indoor cycling class in Ride Revolution, one of the top indoor cycling studios in the Metro, which recently just opened their flagship store in Kerry Sports Manila. Popularly called “Ride Rev” by their dedicated riders, this studio has consistently offered an elevated workout experience, zoning in on what’s most important to the rider: a cardio-focused, full-body workout paired with the best equipment, music, and lights. It’s a guaranteed party on a bike!

These 50-minute classes are high intensity, and you’ll want to stay fresh during your ride. Here are our do's and don'ts: 

  1. Do keep it light and minimal - Sweat and makeup aren't a good mix, however, we understand that everyone has bad skin days. So, this shouldn’t be an excuse to skip your workout! You'll only need a few products to just keep your face put-together for your workout sesh. And yes, that would also mean leaving your heavy-duty foundation at home.

  2. Do use a cooling spray to lessen redness - The intensity of a cycling class can turn our normal Asian flush to looking like an allergy real quick. To minimize redness, we must turn to our cooling mist sprays to keep us refreshed.

  3. Don’t wear anything dark on your face - Do we really need to explain this one? Just imagine walking out of the darkroom with a smeared smokey eye look all over your face. You’re going to be sweating, then wiping your face off, then sweating some more. Trust us, it’s just not a good idea.

  4. Don’t wear mascara - but if you do, make sure it’s waterproof - If you can skip the mascara, then, by all means, do it. But we know, your beloved mascara is a make-up essential that makes you 100x more confident when you take your post-class photo. But remember, mascara is used to intensify your natural eyelashes and draw more attention to your eyes - if consistently rubbed and wiped off during class, you could potentially walk out of the studio looking like a raccoon. So, be careful with this one, and always choose waterproof.

  5. Do wear dry shampoo BUT only before your workout -  Sorry ladies, but if you’re going to skip the shower and apply dry shampoo on wet hair - it will do absolutely nothing but leave a residue. So, if you’re going to tame the frizz and prep your hair, then make sure it’s only before the workout. You’ll leave the studio with a less greasy look.
