From cushion makeup to 10-step skincare and Skip-Care, we can always expect Korean beauty to be on top of the game when it comes to skincare and makeup trends. We’ve heard of glass, honey, and cloudless skin in the past so we’re curious to know what’s next.
We recently had the chance to chat with K-Beauty guru and Wishtrend TV host Eunice Cho and found out that Korean women are venturing out of the dewy and no-makeup look. Here’s what she had to say about the latest trends in South Korea.

In Korea right now, I would have to say that I think the dewy look is kind of out. More than the dewy look, we love the healthy glow. I think semi-matte and matte makeup are trending. So we do want that radiant, healthy glow from within but I think semi-matte or matte are back.

Makeup is becoming a little bit bolder. We call this beauty trend ssen unni, [which means ‘tough older sister’ in Korean] similar to rapper and singer Jessi’s look. They really like that type of strong makeup: bold lips and Western makeup so a lot of Korean women are adapting to that. I think thicker lips and fuller eye makeup are gonna become big trends and will continue for a long time.

April Skin Magic Cushion PHP 1,200
For your base, try April Skin Magic Cushion, a full coverage foundation with a matte finish. If you have dry skin, we recommend prepping your skin with a facial oil like Human Nature Sunflower Beauty Oil Luxe.
theBalm Nude Dude Palette PHP 1,790
For the eyes, apply a neutral brown shade all over the lids, then a deep matte shade on the outer corners and apply a shimmer on the center of the lids. We love theBalm’s Nude Dude Palette, which has matte and shimmer shades from light neutrals to deep warm hues.
